The other day, Ali Abdaal posted a short called “This Fixed My Sleep, Instantly.”

Now, if you’ve seen his stuff, you know he’s a big voice in the productivity world.

I know quite a bit about fixing sleep so really…what else is there that I still do not know about?

Well, turns out I was right.

The “fix” was simply to… stop using social media. I sighed.

And here I am, trying so hard every day to put a fresh spin on repeated topics for myself and for my clients.

Look, I actually like Ali’s content.

But it’s hard to believe someone who’s been deep in this space for years suddenly stumbled on something so… basic?

What surprised me even more was the comments. No one questioned it.

I get that old advice works. There’s value in repeating ideas in their original form.

And who knows, maybe the algorithm calls for it?

But dressing it up just a little could do so much more:

  • New research on how social media messes with your brain

  • A way to limit it without going full monk mode

  • Or clever settings that make it easier to wind down without deleting every app
